Teambuilding by the beach

Program outline

La Gi town in the south-central province of Binh Thuan is best known for its remote, tranquil beach and the Thay Thim Palace, a cultural and historical heritage.

It was chosen by Vietmark for a team-building trip for the staff of Glandore Systems, a web and mobile technology provider.

The Amazing Race, though it was for just two days, brought a lot of excitement to the Glandore employees.

Their 180-kilometer trip from Ho Chi Minh City began with a lot of curiosity, anxiety, and nervousness.

But the guides’ funny games and storytelling put them at ease.

The bus arrived at Mom Da Chim Resort in the evening and everyone woke up early the next morning, bright and raring to go amid the fresh air and the gentle sound of waves.

The Amazing Race
The participants were divided into eight teams, given GPS tools, cash, and play money. They had to go to different locations on the beach as quickly as possible.

A challenge awaited them at each spot, with victory demanding creativity, determination, physical strength, and team spirit.

No matter how deep the river or how high the mountains, everything can be conquered if one works in a team, was the theme.

A big bonus was on offer to the team that found an environmentally friendly means of transport, which in this case happened to be a bullock cart.

The game also rewarded players who made an effort to learn local people’s culture and habits.

Another challenge was to create a new brand and image for Glandore Systems.

At the end of the day, everyone returned to the hotel for a gala dinner. They were worn out but cheerful and there was a friendly atmosphere.

One said “happiness has overcome tiredness.”

The gala was meant as a gift to show Glandore Systems cared about its employees

There were performances, most of them by the employees who got a lot of surprising responses from their colleagues, showing they had more interesting things to share besides the company uniform.

Some danced charmingly, some said funny stories that had everyone in stitches, while others got out their cameras and captured the images.

Another highlight was the awards given to excellent employees by the Glandore Systems brass. There was an exchange of smiles and handshakes and a promise to continue working together for the development of the company.

The trip managed to create deep bonds between the Glandore employees. For Vietmark, the organizer, the biggest reward was hearing participants say: “From now on, people will think GS as in Glandore Systems stands for ‘Group is Strength’.
