Teambuilding For Capitaland

Program outline

So our team (VietMark staff) started the day very early, to conduct team building activities for sixty team members of Capitaland. Our agenda for the day included Mountain Climbing, Cycling and Rafting. We geared up with a truck and two buses to the foot of the Long son Mountain. The division of group in to 6 teams were,  all done on the way, in the bus. So the teams have to just jump out of the bus to start experiencing the activities that were kept in store for them by VietMark (Our Team Building Team). These activities are to be completed by each team. Which ever team reaches the destination first, wins. So they are to encourage each other towards the destination. There were also 'Challenge Stations' between, which the group has to face and overcome.

1. Climbing the Mountain
2. Cooking as a team (Creating Food)
3. Cycling
4. Creating Raft
5. Rafting

And the challenge for the teams did not end there....It spilled over to the evening 'Gala Dinner', where the groups have to perform a dance as a team.

My observation as a Team  Escort for the day!

As an Escort of one of the teams, I experienced all the activities, the feelings of excitement, frustration, weariness, yet the determination to press forward to the destination. It was interesting to watch, how each member of the team would be so different and how it is important for the team to pull everyone together through the roads, rough and level, green and dry, good and bad. When accidents (couple of girls had an ankle sprain) happen, even the other teams, who are competitors were compassionate enough to stop on their way and lend a helping hand. Some of the roads were unexpected, thrilling and looked dangerous, however, with team members instructing each other to be careful and by passing on the strategies they discovered as the trail blazer to take the road, actually brought down the fear of the team members and the dangerous paths were no more dangerous. Sometimes, it is important to repress or cease the competing spirit and take care of the well being of the co-team members or even the competitors. The team I escorted, actually were in a winning mode, while suddenly, on their way,  discovered or were notified by the other teams, that one of their team members were left behind. It is so easy to carry oneself as an individual, but to carry along another soul or few more souls toward a purpose is challenging, yet much possible. That's when, a team needs a leader, who is to take a parent ego state.
